Default EGR Port & Carbon debris

I have read the articles, they are a big help Im just not sure on one thing. If you use a drill bit to drill out the carbon buildup, do you have to worry about the carbon floating around in that chamber if you can't get it out with a vacuum?

Im just concered if its a big deal if the crap that gets broken up and stays inside the EGR port area, or if its ok because it gets burnt up anyways.

You really should remove that stuff. It's pretty hard, so it could do some damage.

Whats a good way of removing it? The size of the holes doesn't look to be more than 3/8" or so.
