Widow? Yeah If I bought an H2 for 15 grand my wife would murder me. Then she'd be a widow...

That's sweet as hell.

A bit steep, but someday that will be a welcome candidate in my collection.

Nice

One of the older guys I see up at Bear Mt. all the time had his H1 500 out this weekend. Thing is pretty much mint and gets looks from everyone. Sounds like a crazy lawnmower when he starts it up cold though with the pistons slapping around , quiets down once its warmed up and sounds good. I wish I had a two stroke.

Their having a meet up there this Sunday if it's not raining with H1's and H2's and I'll try to remember to bring my camera. I go up every weekend and always forget my camera to snap some pics of these badass bikes.

For the haters... we have to appreciate the history. this is one of the truely great historical motorcycles from the recent era.. specially for the influence of the japanese manufacturers. which happen to own all the motorcycle world championships right now!(almost all :-P). this is for sale and I thought I would share It had the reputation of killing people, it was so fast.. hence the name widow maker. Up until just a few years ago, you could find these engines still running in outlaw classess at the drags... they may stll be running, and they are still running in certain classes at bonneville salt flats

I agree that we need to appreciate the history of motorcycling.

I think the H2's reputation has more to do with the wacky powerband than the fact that it was so fast.

Purple Haze is one company that comes to mind who offers service and parts for these Kawis. I've posted this here before...

My friend has some H1's and H2's, very unique sounding engines... like three motoX 250's all in one

Oh yeah... those were the days... not a care in the world. Off the showroom floor and out the door... $3500 I sold it off in the late eighties as it sat complete, but in boxes for $1500. Pure sadness now. Now days I have to spend $10k-$15k to get anything I would want new

Nothing from the 70's is fast in the context of whats available today. They were fast back then though...

One of my bikes has a 19" front wheel. not too many choices for decent rubber in that size.

Hang your *** off the end of a sub 12 sec motorcycle riding on 420 rubber... you'll experience fast.

You're right its all relative... the vintage suspension, frame, wheels, and tires make it feel really fast, where as the same manuver at the same speed on a modern bike on modern tires would be downright boring.

That's the bike that killed more people than heart disease (in it's brief production tenure). 750 2 stroke, 1 dinky rotor and no engine braking no matter how hard you squeezed the lever. Where do I sign up? Hell, at least it doesn't have front drums.
