Default license plate mounting

so i noticed that there are no holes for mounting the front plate on the fit, so i'm guessing that you have to drill holes in the bumper and i'm not happy doing that. so i'm thinkin of doing a jdm style license plate bracket, so its off to the side of the bumper. anybody know where i can find a bracket to do that ?

Just check ebay, even if it says Civic it should be universal, its' just a bar that you mount onto the bumper...

actually the fit does have licence palte holes. It actually mounts under the bumper in the bumper cutout. If u bend down, u will see 2 bolts, or 2 holes where the bolts should go w/ a metal bracket to keep the screw tight. That is where the plastic shroud mounts and the shroud - that the actual plate mounts to - curves upward and sits in front. I took mine off cuz it put tiny scratches on my bumper so i completely took it off. I am too in the process of mounting it to the side, but still use one of the original mounting locations.

What he said! ^^

I made the dealership take it off before I would take the car out of their showroom.

If you live in a state that requires a front plate, there should be a plastic bracket that mounts to the holes under the bumper that are already there. Bracket should be free from the dealer. Did you buy a FIT from a dealer and not get the bracket?

Mine along with others on Fit Freak have found ours to be drilled through the front bumper. Sucks. If removed... we're left with two nicely cut holes. BOOOO!!!

I have a problem with the REAR plates. They rattle and flop when I close the hatch.
Is this normal? I didn't remove the two large black pads that were on the hatch when I screwed on the plate. They rattle naked and with frames.
Thanks for any help

how often do u open/close the hatch? Don't remove those rubber pads they are there to support the licence plate. If you wanted, the best way to fix that would be to take ur licence plate and put some carpet tape (removable) betweent he licence plate and the rubber pads, so it will hold the licence plate to the rubber pad. Don't use a licence plate frame so that won't rattle.

thanks for your quick response, I'll try the tape.
I actually haven't needed to put anything in my fit via the hatch yet.
