Default Excuse me waiter, i dont have a spoon!

Me and a buddy decided to get off our asses and finally mount the strut bar that hes had chillin around for a bit. For reference, the car is a 2007 base model fit not, the sport .

This makes the title make sense

The holes we used were already in place. on the passenger side was a vacum line with a clip holding it in place, and a black peel off circle. The black mark is the amount of seem sealer that needs to be cut out to lay the strut mounts flat.

On the drivers side there was a black peel off circle sticker, and a small wiring loom, which can be moved up and over the strut bar and ziptied out of place. Again, the black mark is the amount of seem sealer to be cut out.

Drivers side seam sealer cutout

final mounting spot - drivers side

final mounting spot - passenger side

final fit..(yes, thats a pun )

and my car, because i had to show some dub love

Before and After?

How much did this improve the handling?

Nice. FYI it's not a vacuum line on the passenger side it's the window washer fluid line.

ok...

- yea, its more then likely fake, but it fit very nice. the mounting plates had the proper angles on them to mold with the way the strut towers were angled.

- yes, it helped the handling alot, the biggest change being under hard turning. The owner, my friend, likes to do alot of auto-x with the car so its definatly beneficial.

- Yes, the strut bar is attached to the strut tower ... haha

- Yea, we weren't sure wether it was a fluid line of some sort or a vacum line. I simply assumed vacum line because coming from a vw backround, im used to seeing alot of vacum lines in random places. We didn't think to trace the line to its origin.

they are on older Hondas. The strut itself is moved pretty far back making it difficult to mount the bar directly over the strut.

for the people complaining about how its mounted..look at the way the seems on the struts are put together. theres seem sealer all around them. so even if you could somehow get a strutbar in there, youd have to peel away all of the sealer, exposing the seem. as if that wouldnt be bad enough you'd actually have to drill into the metal where the 2 seems overlapped, this is if you could even get a drill in there.

untill any of you come along with a strutbar for a fit that actually goes all the way around the strut, please hold your comments to yourselfs

I still don't see how that is tieing the struts together when you haven't used any of the bolts of the strut, you just bolted it to empty holes near the actually strut tower. This will help a tiny bit but seems mostly for show, as the struts are still working independently.

I'm not going to be making any bars for the fit personally but that bar isn't doing what it's advertising as a "strut bar"

but hell you guys seems happy with it and thats what really matters most in this scene so (yes I do feel that way I'm not trying to be an ***)

For the strut bar to strengthen the chassis, and prevent flex it doesnt have to be directly over the strut. There is a huge difference in the way the car handles with and without a bar. Many people will say it is useless. But ive driven with one then taken it off and trust me you can tell.

Cute strut bar for a cute car. LOL, just playing. But seriously, it doesn't look too functional. Are those 10mm bolts?

im telling you, it really is. get one and try it for yourself. doesn't cost THAT much money. I forget what size the bolts were. 13mm i think. IIRC, they werent the bolts that come with the kit.

the strut bar you should of got should have been a solid bar without the hinges.

strut bars are very functional. that is why there are stock cars with stock strut bars.

why do you think they are called strut tower bars..... cause they are more functional attached to the tower then the actual strut

Funny, because you still don't have a real spoon
