01 CRV wont start! NEED HELP ASAP! UPDATED!
UPDATED check page 2
I replaced a valve on my wife's 01 crv. everything went great, I replaced the timing belt and water pump. got everything timed in all the marks line up as they should. I get everything back together and. It will not start. I have spark at all the plugs and it sounds like it wants to but it just wont. The car drove into the garage. and everything is plugged in and all connections are tight.
Spark is nice a bright white/blue in color
I'm stumped here. I have been around Honda's for a few years and i cant figure it out? I thinking that it could be the dizzy but it drove in before we tore it apart
I need to get this thing going ASAP!! HELP ME OUT!!!
Its an 01 CRV 193k 5 spd 4wd all factory maintenance records from day 1
Thanks
-Mike

its not the dizzy if you have spark....more than likely fuel or a connector is on the wrong connection. I know the TPS and something else are close enough that you can mix them up and they have the same connector. Cant remember what it is off hand.

You need to adjust your valves sir.
Post compression numbers
It is highly unlikely that it is your dizzy, being that it was working fine before the build.
It is more likely a timing issue.
I went through the same thing on my b18a/b hybrid build, wanting to start and everything.I bet you get sputtering and maybe even slight backfiring..

We adjusted the valves and there are all in spec. I only had adjust 3 or 4 of them and even then they were still in just alittle the low side on clearance.
I guess ill pull the timing belt back off and check the marks again...
No backfiring. but it does sputter like it wants to start but just wont take off

Just wondering,I'm sure you got the lower crank lined up,but are you certain that the cams are lined up exactly how they're supposed to?if its even a tooth off I wouldn't expect it to start..

Well if he has spark, that means the main relay is priming the fuel pump.at least it should.
With that being said, its highly unlikely that his fuel pump took a dump when he says that he drove into the garage just fine.
If anything, just loosen the fuel filter line going to the fuel rail, and make sure you have fuel squirting upon cranking.even if the fuel was barely coming out of the injectors,it would still start, but then possibly die out..

The TPS and Map sensor connectors are mostlikely reversed. The Map has 3 wires (red/green, yellow/red,green/white) TPS has 3 wires (red/black, green/black, and yellow/blue.
Make sure they are in the right spot.
Hope that helps. Let me know if it worked out.

I can smell fuel when i crank it for a long time. plugs are wet.
Ill check to make sure that all the plugs for the injectors are in the right order even tho i dont think we pulled them out.
And ill check the MAP and TPS sensor connectors
Yes im about 99.9999% sure on the came location for timing
will post an update tomorrow

Re: 01 CRV wont start! NEED HELP ASAP!
You do have the crankshaft set correct right? rotate, line up the crank time mark, and ensure that cylinder #1, and #4 are at TDC, then check that your cam gears are lined up to the UP position -(UP)- -(UP)-, if your cylinders are flooded, remove your sparkplugs, and rotate your crank to remove excess fuel. Cranking with flooded cylinders can hydrolock your engine, and may even bend a rod. Also remove the dizzy cap and ensure that rotor is pointing at cylinder #1 while everthing is alingned at tdc.
