When is radiator fan supposed to kick on? (D15B2)
I was reading up on an unrelated maintenance procedure, and the manual says that the car has reached normal operating temperature once the radiator fan kicks on.
My radiator fan has NEVER kicked on from normal use except for on particularly hot summer days (close to 100 degrees).
Is this normal? is my fan switch going bad?

You can check the switch with a meter, resistance. Not sure what the value should be though. Fan should come on after thermostat opens, unless its cold enough where it doesn't need to.

Without A/C:
With the ignition in RUN, if the coolant temperature is above 194 degrees F (90 degrees C) at coolant temperature switch (located at center rear of engine), then the switch contacts will close, which should turn on the radiator fan.
With A/C:
With the ignition in RUN, if the coolant temperature is above 194 degrees F (90 degrees C) at coolant temperature switch (located at center rear of engine), then the switch contacts will close, which should turn on both the radiator fan and condenser fan.
With the car running, if the A/C is turned on, both cooling fans should run, regardless of the coolant temperature at the coolant temperature switch.
Whether the car has A/C or not, the ECU can also turn on the cooling fan(s).
To test that the fan does work, you can unplug the connector to the coolant temperature switch and jump the harness connector. With the ignition in RUN, the fan should run.
The coolant temperature switch can be tested by removing the switch and suspend the switch in water and heating it. Above 194 degrees F, there should be continuity between the terminals; which means the contacts closed.

I have a problem also with my fan, except when my car gets to operating temp. The fan kicks on and doesn't switch off until I shut off my car.

My radiator fan (d15b2) rarely comes on unless it's in the summer. I've always bled coolant systems on my cars by running it and topping off as necessary and waiting until the thermostat opens/radiator fan kicks on. This is virtually impossible on the Civic unless it's summer time

Hello every one
i have civic 2016 2.0 na
when ac on normal temp for my car is 90° to 95° if i drive high rev it goes to 100 than fan start and come back to around 90°
But when ac off it mostly stays above 90 and reach 100
It never goes above 100 but stay 90 to 100 without ac
is it normal?
