Shrouded Fan For EF?
I’m going to pick up a new radiator for my 88 4dr. I’m going to get a double core radiator and I want to pick up a nice big fan for it. My thing is I measured a spare radiator at just under 13"(12.75) from top to bottom. And I can’t find any fans that size that have a shroud. They are all the type that just have a cage over them.
I would really like something with a shroud as it would be more efficient. I know FAL makes some but I can’t find any that show to fit on that radiator. Do the fans run small or what? Any ideas?
I dont have a problem notching the shroud to fit but the smallest one ive found is 13.5".

Is this an EG half radiator or is this like a stock full size one radiator?
I have this fan http://www.flex-a-lite.com/auto/html...ro-puller.html
I have the single one and it fits great on my alum EG half radiator.

Here is one by Moshimoto. http://passwordjdm.com/Mishimoto-88-...d-P3004C0.aspx
Many people overlook the importance of installing a high performance fan shroud kit, when in fact it will significantly enhance driving performance and capability. The Mishimoto fan shroud kit for the 1988-1991 Honda Civic / CRX is significantly lighter than standard fan shrouds, and is a direct OEM fit. All Mishimoto fan shroud will effectively drive out heat from the engine bay and delivering more air to the CRX radiator, while at the same time serving another very important purpose; securing the fan blades. The fan shroud will keep the fan blades in place, which otherwise could potentially damage other essential components in your engine.
The Mishimoto Aluminum Fan Shroud kit includes the electric slim fans as pictured and comes pre-assembled / mounted.

I just typed in 88-91 civic shrouded fans and got a decent amount of results. You don't necessarily have to run a dual fan setup like the one I posted above. You can run just a Flex-a-Lite fan like I posted above, which you can modify the 1/4" that it might be off but it will do just as good of a cooling job.
Any specific reason you don't want to use the stock fan setup? just curious.

Re: Shrouded Fan For EF?
Ive seen that one, i dont think ill be able to run the dual fan setup. There isnt any room for a stock Puller type condensor fan in the car.
The car has a B20Z and it likes to overheat on hot days. Id like to just go over kill on the cooling system so i dont have to worry about it.

Im sure the radiator is slightly clogged. Hence why im getting a new one. But id rather get a larger fan at the same time.
