quick tranny question S1 tranny.
I have a S1 tranny on my b16a. It slips outta 5th gear during driving. all gears go in fine. no grinding what so ever. Would my syncros be done with? It's only 5th gear. So i drive around in 4th atm. Kinda sux with the gear ratios the S1 has. around 4500-5000rpm @70ish. About to put a new clutch in so while its out I was thinking getting the 5th gear fixed.

Re: quick tranny question S1 tranny. (tglkrew)
try this, before you spending any money to get this fixed! raise the car up on stands, and use a pry bar(wedge it between the bottom of the tranny case, and the rear engine mount bracket) to straighten the selector rod that comes out of the tranny, and connects to the shift linkage. when you hammer in the pin that holds the shiftlinkage to the selector rod on the tranny, the selector rod tends to bend since force is needed to drive the pin in the linkage!
