need some help removing coolant drain bolt on block of b16
Its a coolant drain bolt on the block of B16. Is there any other way to flush the engine out? Now that I'm typing... Maybe remove water pump and flush it there? Engine is not in the car, and the head and block are seperated. The coolant looks kind of rusty so I want to flush it out real good before I reassemble the engine and install it in my CRX.
To remove the drain bolt, I've tried: Torch, 250ft lb impact, 6 foot breaker, and lots of liquid wrench.
There is another 5 pt bolt on the backside of the block next to oil filter, I cant find this one in the helms manual. Anyone know what that ones for?
Any help is greatly appreciated.. I hope the post is understandable since I've spent a couple days on this damn bolt and Im PI$$ED.
Thanks in advance,
Monty

Sorry, I'm not providing any help here. Just providing some sympathy. I felt the same way when I didn't have the proper tools to remove the crank pulley bolt.
When I finally got the tools and removed the bolt it felt so damn good!
I'm surprised you didn't get that bolt off with the 6 ft breaker bar.

You can remove the thermostat (reinstall the thermostat housing) and stick a running garden hose into either the upper or lower radiator hose. Have a bucket ready to catch the water from the hose you didn't stick the garden hose into.

Flushing through the thermostat sounds great! Im all over it. Someday I will get that damn bolt though. I'll take it to a shop with a huge impact.
Thanks for the ideas.
