fried Po8 ecu? CEL wont go away!!!
ok so i have a 91 ef2 and i droped a jdm D16A vtec motor from a 92-95 eg si it also came with p08 ecu and not the p28 ecu because the po8 only looks for one 1 wire o2 sensor and not a four wire o2 sensor (so i was told) so i bough the mil-spec harness form rywire to convert it to OBD1 so i could run the motor.. the harness i got im guessing is for a wire tuck and the o2 sensor wire was really f**king long... so everything was going grate drove it for like 2 months just fine and all of the sudden the wire got warped around the cv joint because the wire fell between the firewall and motor and tore it to sh*t luckily it wasn't that bad so i checked the harness and made sure that there was current going threw to the ecu with a multimeter and there was but the check engine light kept coming on after i reconnected the o2 sensor and it dosent come on right away... it comes on once the car is warm and u drive for about 15 min then the check engine light comes on... so i have tried everything to fix it i bought a new o2 sensor because the wire was coming out of it... i even called rywire and they said to bypas the harness and run a wire from the o2 sensor straight to the ecu and did that and the damn CEl still comes on.. so my question is could i have grounded out the wire and skrewd up the ecu so no matter what i do the check engine light is going to come on because its fried? has anyone ever dealt with something like this please help.. before i go buy another p08 ecu

Maybe u should try n open the harness where the o2 sensor wiring goes n see if its shorting out, sending bad signal to ecu

First - you got irritated at 10:40 at night because nobody replied to the post you made just about an hour beforehand.
There isn't a whole lot of action on this site in the evening so you have to be a little more patient.
So far you have changed out your O2 and even ran a new wire direct from the new O2 to the ECU.
That only leaves the ECU to be in question.
Before you run out and buy a new ECU, you may just want to verify a couple things.
The ECU looks for 0volts~about 1volt from the O2 so grounding it shouldn't kill the ECU.... shouldn't.
It could be that your new ECU is faulty out of the box. It's happened before especially with the cheaper ones.
O2 wire is shielded so you need to make sure your replacement wire is shielded too or it may trigger the ECU to throw a CEL when it receives bad signals.
With the replacement wire and new O2 in place, hook up a voltmeter to the back of the ECU connector onto the O2 sensor pin (D14 is the correct pin. On OBD1 pinout diagrams D7 says primary O2, but not for P08. P08 uses the pin for secondary O2).
Start the car and let it warm up. After warm up it should be reading about 0.45.. It may be bouncing around and that means it's working.
This is just a voltmeter test and doesn't apply to a full "is this O2 still good" lambda scope test.
