CRX aerodynamic front bumper?
88 CRX - you guys know a good aerodynamic front bumper? Ours is trash and I'm trying to find a good aerodynamic one for the 1/4 mile. Something simple...I'm tired of all those ricey kits out there, maybe you guys know something.

Re: CRX aerodynamic front bumper? (Francois)
i wouldnt worry too much about it. unless u r puttin down some serious power and are racing and need that last little bit. and if u were racing then the regular crx bumper would probably be good especially the si one with the front lip because it would give increased downforce as you accelerated causing greater tracion in the front which would make your faster. although all of this that i have stated in mostly in theory. well educated theory i might add but theory none the less. but i am prob wrong considering the way u spoke of aerodynamics in your post and heading you have probably spent considerable time in the wind tunnel which has totally contradicted everything that i have said in this post.

actually, by increasing the downforce, you also increase the drag. This makes you slower. This is why F1 cars are designed to go down the straightaway with the nose higher than the rear. This makes the spoilers flat and creates less drag.

Re: CRX aerodynamic front bumper? (bryan305)
logically yes that is true. more downforce would create more drag. and as u talked about with f1 cars you need to find the balance. they inherently have a better way of creating the balance but either way the balance is needed to create a fast and stable moving object. they also have the benefit of billion $ budgets and countless hours of wind tunnel time to develop anything that they need. i was only stating that he didnt really have the facts that the front was or wasnt aerodynamic. he only stated that he didnt think that it was. i only stated that the front for the crx would probably be fine for any application that he was putting his car through.

you can take a stock one and use sheet metal to block off the openings. there is a guy on here with a stripped EG on spray with a single cam that went 13's with the radiator blocked.

Thanks RZA, if I wanted sarcasm I would've asked for it. I was just wondering if there may be something out there better than the OEM front bumper. If not, so be it, we'll just get another stock one.
