Is it possible you dislodged the speedo cable from the tranny housing? Its possible while your unbolting the dizzy, especially if you removed the battery and intake tube.

Re: need help with tack
the speedo cable has nothing at all to do with the tach... im guessing if it happend when you changed the dizzy that there is somethin wrong with it or maybe some wires got pinched or somethin... gotta be something along those lines...

I would say its somewhere in the dizzy, cause your vtec runs off your dizzy also, My boys gsr dizzy started messing us and vtec didnt kick hard along with the tach, the tach sarted to flicker.

Re: need help with tack
this is the wiring chart for the dizzy clips... i was wrong about the green and white wires lol... and idk what wire is for the tach.. but either way the cilps from the dizzy include a wire for the tach... this i know... so just make sure none of them are pinched anywhere... that about all i can say i dont know much about the dizzy itself except that they go bad and how to replace its parts...

It's very likely that the ignitor in your new distributor is bad. I've had a few brand new ignitors come straight out of the box with the tach output signal not functioning.

Re: need help with tack
take off the cap and look at the igniter and check if the blue wire came off the igniter there should be 4 wires i think and the rpm wire witch is blue should be on the side of the igniter right next to the coil
