Default bad ECU??

So my 88 hatch is throwing a code 9. i'm trying to trouble shoot it... i read some diagnostics on how to test to see if it's a bad crank sensor, and everything tested to spec... the schematics said that the sensor had to be between 350 and 500 ohms, and it measured 366 ohms both at the dizzy and at the ecu. no continuity from a ground and either pin on the dizzy either, so i'm pretty sure the dizzy is fine. the article said that if everything was within spec then i'd have to replace my ecu.

can some one verfiy this for me please??

check continuity to make sure that the blue/green wire at the distributor is going to ECU pin C1 and the blue/yellow wire is going to ECU pin C2 - if this was a DPFI to MPFI swap, these are the 2 wires that had to be added to the distributor - is this an OEM distributor or aftermarket? - some aftermarket or rebuilt distributors have the wires switched inside the distributor - if all else fails, try switching the 2 wires

i'm pretty sure it's an oem one, i got it from the junk yard. all the colors on the dizzy harness match up to the harness i made. i did the mpfi my self (well re did, but you get the idea)

what you said jlicrx is the one thing i didn't test yet. lol pita to shove my fat d.m.m. probes in the tiny ecu plugs lol

ok checked continuity, blue/green goes to c1, blue/yellow goes to c2... i'll try swaping the two around, reset the ecu and see what happens. it's funny, the code only show's up after i rev it out to redline... if i baby it it doesn't show up.

it could be that the bearings in the distributor are worn allowing the shaft to wobble a little at high rpm which can cause the part of the sensor on the shaft to contact the part attached to the housing - i would try a different distributor before suspecting the ECU

i had/still have the same problem. i have a 91 si code 9. already mpfi. i put 3 perfectly working dizzys off of 3 running cars still didnt fix the problem. only thing i havent done is changed ecu. so getting a new distributor mite not help. if everything tested fine/ jus like mine did. im gnna try getting a new ecu n c what happens.... does it rev horribly after u shut the car off and stat it up again?
