'91 CRX starts every time but is stalling while driving...any thoughts?
I was driving down the road and my CRX stalled. I restarted it without a problem and went on. I drove about 20 miles and made it home without it stalling again. Then I had to run a quick errand about 1 mile from home. It stalled several times but started right back up. It seemed to stall when I had to slow down. Once I got going on the road it got me home wihtout stalling again. The engine sputters for a few seconds and it dies, but like I said, it starts right back up. Any ideas?

No motor or tranny modifications, just a plain old factory model. Haven't adjusted the idle lately. Could it be the distributor?

did you recently change your timing belt?..May have slipped a tooth causing the idle to dip low and stall the motor..

Timing belt was last replaced at 150,000, it now has 222,250. Would it stall if the timing belt were loose or slipping?

Yes if the belt has slipped a couple of teeth..
When you come to a stop light and put your foot in on the clutch it stalls,, right??

I have the same problem but never get the motivation to go check the problem out. Im thinking coil but the distributor can be too. Post back up if you find out what was causing the problem.

Well I took it to a shop I trusted, and they replaced the base plate gaskets and o-rings, and it seems to have fixed the problem.

Check to make sure that the retaining screw on the rotor (distributor) hasn't backed out.
I had to tighten mine like 20 times before I finaly got a new rotor with new screw and used some loctite. Before I did this it left me stranded several times on the side of the road

Re: (Jonathan_ED3)
Well, I drove 50 miles tonight with no more stalling, hopefully it's fixed. I did have a problem with a bad rotor, the screw was loose but it never stalled on me. It just caused the tach to jump up and down. Sometimes it felt like it might stall, but never did.
