second gen crx si started in 88'. The civic si was 89'.
As far as the wiring differences I know for a fact that the 88-89 did have a slightly different harness then the 90-91. The plugs might be shaped different.

if they are different ill go pick up a cabin harness (50$) out of a clean *** 91 shell

88 and 89 is a littler different from 90 and 91
