1991 ef civic dies

when im in first gear getting readdy to go i push in the clutch and give it gas but it dies when i trie again i give it more gas and it does fine is this normal.

fuel pump, or fuel pressure regulator. you dont have enough pressure.

that could posibly be the problem nothing has been changed on it for who knows how long probally since it came out on the market thx.
