Default Rad fan switch

I bought an EF hatch with a b16 swap and the original owner had the rad fan hooked up to a switch next to the steering wheel and i want to hook it back up to the engine. I'm not exactly sure how to do that and every time i google it or look for it in the repair manual i can never find a strait answer. i can post pictures tomorrow.

The fan relay should be on the passenger side fender well behind the headlight. There should also be 2 wires running from it to where the fan is. Those are the wires that the fan should be hooked up to.

I imagine there was an issue with the oem relay or fan switch so the previous owner bypassed it.

What should I do if he removed it? Can I buy a new relay and switch from a parts shop?

I would go to a junkyard.
It's only a 10 mm bolt holding it near the headlight/air filter area.

It depends, is the stock wiring still there? It's a 4 wire relay so there should be a 4 wire plug in that area behind the headlight.

Did you check to see if it was there already?

The black one is your relay. Since it is there what do the wires look like coming from your fan?

There should be a 2 prong connector coming from the wiring harness. Is that one hooked to your fan?

There is a fan switch connecting to the thermostat housing I believe, that should be wired to the fan circuit. If it doesn't turn on on its own, he completely severed the circuit and ran a separate 12v source.

What I did was run a switch but grounded it through the cabin, keeping the original fan switch sensor. Look for that fan switch on the thermostat housing, and re-run wires from that sensor to a constant 12 volt source and ground the other on the fan. That is only if you can't find the original wiring in which case simply disconnect the switch re-connect those.

Good Luck

ON a crx, the fan switch is on the back of the block, above left of the oil filter.

That's correct, for the D16A6 the fan switch is on the back. New D series such as the Z6 has it on the thermostat housing.
