Will a 1.7L single overhead cam from a 03 civic? If so what is required?!

it would with serious modifications. other than that no it wont 88-00 d15/d16 motors interchangeable with your year mounts

ofcourse it will fit. there is a ton of room in the sols engine bay.

lol! I've got a 2001 w/1.7L. Don't bother. Trawl thru craigslist and get a K-series and rebuild it-even if ya can't put hood on your car. lol.

But, seriously, any swap is going to require, at a minimum an engine, and preferably the computer and wire harness that came with it. Then you have to ask yourself: Do I still want the accessories and have a nice daily driver or am I going full road warrior mode with only gauges, racing seat(s), and cage on the inside or somewhere in between?

Good rule of thumb: fast, reliable, cheap- pick two

Even tho its a D series' it will not be a direct fit.

01-up Civic use coil packs, and 00-down use dizzys. You will atleast need to change the head.

Yes the distributor-less ignition system would be the biggest hurdle.
Then once all the compatibility issues are straight, you are now left with an anemic 1.7l that isn't worth all the hassle you just dealt with.

as far as the wiring goes, it is the same as wiring a k series.

as far as shifter goes, same as handling a k series.

as far as mounts go, custom made mounts will be necessary. might as well go k series.

agreed that the 1.7 is the downfall of the d series, might as well go k, but if your going k, you might as well buy my 6 spd accord trans and go j37
