I was thinking about getting a tow hitch for my 99 civic. The only thing I would tow is my 400lb. Yamaha raptor. on a small trailer.

What yall think.

I put a hitch on my 96 EX and towed my dirt bike on a small 4x8 trailer, it did OK. Not much passing power but it will get the job done.

at least someone is actually wanting to upgrade their tow hooks in order to use it and not just in it for the looks.

You don't use the tow hooks for towing, you use them for winching a car out of a ditch or stuff.

Towing should work ok, typically towing is hard on transmissions. Just go easy on it and try to avoid hills.

Your Civic can do it. Hell, you could tow a Civic with a Civic....

my buddy towed a full size mid 90's chevy with a bed fully loaded with barkdust (trany went out) with his 4 door gsr he even did 65 on the freeway lol

you can do it just don't expect to win any races lol, if i remember correctly the car/hitch is rated to safely tow 1500lbs with 4-500lbs tongue weight. i use to tow my 2005 Honda 500 4x4 behind my coupe. key factors are getting light trailer and then balancing the quad on the trailer so have enough weight on the tongue so it wont fishtail but not so much your going to bottom out your suspension
