screeching/whistling/scrhistling noise when starting engine
when i start up my GSR, it sounds like something is spinnin' wildly loose/crazy. like it whistles and screeches real loud, only when i start up... sounds like it coming from driver's side of car? give it about 4, 5 seconds it goes away, only happens when i start the car. anyone have this happen before? other than that, car runs butter smooth, flawless. thanks!

may i also add, would worn/torn tie rod / tie rod boots be the culprit in this situation? i think my passenger's side tie rod could be a little screwed up. my axles are freshly rebuilt so i dunt think they are it, but i could be wrong... thanks for the input guys!

looks like timing belt is rubbing on the stupid plastic piece on the side. is it possible to just get rid of this plastic piece? and by plastic piece i mean the belt goes under the valvecover where the cams are, and down to the main pulley... there's a plastic shroud that looks like it has been rubbing on my belt... i want to just rip it off

Re: (axtran)
I wouldn't take the plastic thing out, it keeps the rocks and other road crap out of your timing belt. If a rock ever gets in your timing belt you will have a very bad day.
