no keyless remote, does it have it?
I'm looking at a 1999 civic ex coupe and it when driving the car at the dealers, i noticed there wasn't any remote for the keyless entry with the given key. I asked the dealer and he said that the guy they bought it off of didn't have one. Does the civic have it to begin with? I guess all i have to do is buy the remote from honda then and get it programmed? Is there anyway to check to see if it does have keyless? The car does have a older alpine radio in it.

99-00 ex's had keyless entry. I dont' think you could get it w/out. They can program a remote to the car...

It has it. All you need to do is get a new remote and program it.

it has it as long as the stock/oem radio is in the car, because the keyless system is run through the oem radio
turns into a big hassle when u want to install an aftermarket radio and keep keyless because u need to hide the oem unit int he dash, and wire it into the stereo harness to give it power to retan keyless...not that hard to figure out but still a bitch

Not for '99-00 Civics. '99-00 models with keyless entry have a separate control unit for the keyless function. Only '96-98 models require retaining the OEM head unit.
