Default Does running P72 in B18c5 cause damage?

I cannot get the correct p73 usdm ecu for my b18c5 swap into ek so I'm currently running p72. Will the p72 cause damage to motor?

A P72 ECU is not correct for a B18C5. First, you should get a check engine light for the IAB circuit since you do not have a GSR type dual plane intake manifold. Second, These types of Honda/Acura ECU's do not have the ability to adapt to modifications to the engine that they are originally programmed for... so consider this: What you have is a GSR engine with higher compression pistons, bigger camshafts, a performance intake manifold and a larger throttle body.

If you drive the car around gently, it will be unlikely that you experience an engine failure. Every time to go "full throttle", you are at risk of destroying your really expensive B18C5 engine.

What year is your EK ? If it is a '96-98, PM me and I can put you in touch with someone who has the ECU that you need.

It's a 98. Also, I forgot to mention that it was a b18c5 head swap on a b18c1 block. I can get my hands on a jdm p73 here in canada, do you know if its possible to run the jdm p73 safely on my set up?

That combination will work pretty well with a JDM P73 ECU... it will run just a tad rich since the bottom end compression is slightly lower than a true B18C5, but being too rich is safer than too lean.

Your post count must be too low for PM's... I cannot PM you either. I suggest you post a few responses to some threads here so that you can PM and then reach out to me. We are not supposed to post shop names and contact information in open forum.
