Lock cylinder install question...

Lock cylinder install question...
Like I stated before my civic didn't come with keys. I gotta use a screw driver to start my car.. ARGH!
The "lock body" is still in the column. Now if I just get the "lock cylinder/tumbler assembly". Can I just set the lock cylinder in the lock body as these instructions say to:
"1: Turn the key to "O" and align the lock cylinder with the lock body.
2: Turn the key almost to "I", and insert the lock cylinder until the pin touches the body.
3: Turn the key to "I", push the pin and insert the lock body cylinder into the lock until the pin clicks into place."
