jumpy tach and electrical problems

Default jumpy tach and electrical problems

i have a 2000 civic ex with a jdm b18b1 in it with a type r trans in it. i have a few problems with it
1st: when the car goes past 3500 rpms the lights get brighter interior and exterior
2nd: is that my tach keeps on jumping around up and down
3rd: new battery just died

to my tach i have these colored wires mated up to each
light blue - light blue
white - black
orange - black
orange blue stripe - orange blue stripe
yellow green stripe - yellow green stripe
black yellow stripe - black yellow stripe
white blue stripe - white blue stripe
blue taped off
now i have had no problems like this before it just started today november 1 2008.
so if someone could get back to me soon i will greatly appreciate it

For the battery problem, it sounds like the internal regualtor in the alternator is going bad, which could explain why the lights get brighter with rpms. For the tach problem try a new distributor, the crank position sensor is in there and it could be going bad. (assuming all the wiring is right, as it sounds)

ok so i think that i fixed it after asking around a dude said to check my grounds so i checked them and the one under the fuse box was loose so its fixed once again cant wait to see what other problems come up lol
