I Got B.A.R'd!
thats right, i finally got it. after failing 3 times at alameda i decided to go to a different ref to get my ticket cleared for the last time, or pay the fine of $361.00 for modified emission.
heres how it went. i scheduled a appt. at San Pablo's referee station(at contra costa college) for this morning. the first time up. i failed the sniffer, my Nox was at 1845... this was due to the fact that my timing was at 19 degrees(i swapped out the stage 1's and didnt have time to do timing with a gun)..
heres the great part... christian and adam(trainee tech's) plus henry(tech) was so helpful... they wanted me to pass... they gave so much slack and took care of me. they took me right back in after i fixed it. since i failed and i knew that my timing was way high, i had to knock the timing back, but i didnt have any tools with me nor did they.. so they told me just go to to kragen and get some tools... after that... i knock the timing down to 14degrees(i eyballed it in the parking lot) and when i got back to the station we used the gun to make sure...
back on the rollers... this time it was just sweet music! i passed with flying colors....i will post up the numbers if anyone wants it...but enough with all the talking... heres the pics
92 cx wtih 1st gen b16a
i was using a usdm p30(rented out from smart monkey, big thanks to him!)
btw, DO NOT DEAL WITH MICHAEL AT ALAMEDA!
Now... its time to put in the b18c1....i will take pics of the assembling tmr....i hope i'll be able to make it to CMI...

Those guys at Contra Costa are cool. The tech trainees are hella coo to talk to and they know a lot about honda motors. Congrats.

i failed a total of 4 times...
1st,2nd,and 3rd time was at alameda..
the first time i failed at alameda was because of low oil! can you believe that?
second time was that i had no proof stating that my ECU was USDM but i passed the sniffer.
the third was the same the second time because the document that i got from honda wasnt good enough for the ******(michael) at alameda.
and the 4th time was at san pablo... i failed the sniffer which was logical... after a few tweeks on the dizzy, i passed with flying colors... and the tech didnt even require me to make anotther appointment...

So what kind of paperwork do you have to present to the station to prove that your motor swap is legit?
For USDM, is it just the title of the car the motor came out off?
And JDM, the sales receipt?
I really need to know man........

i didnt have to show any paper work for the motor.. since it was b16a... it was only availible from japan.. so therefore it cant be a "hot" motor
for usdm.. a title would be nice or a sales receit....

so now that u got the 1.6l bar stamp.... puttin a 1.8l wouldnt that just cancel it out? cause its the wrong bar for the wrong motor? cause i heard if u pass with a 1.6l u gotta keep that 1.6l motor in or dont even get it bard..........
