I waited two weeks before I washed mine. They say six to eight weeks before wax but I waited three months before my first wax job.

you can wash it by hand, just dont use pressure wash for awhile... washing it by hand is fine

my brother waited like 1 - 2 weeks and then washed and waxed it 
Nothing happened though..Just made it really nice and shiny lol

I used water (gentle pressure) after the first 2 weeks. Then soap and water after 3 weeks. No wax for about 2 months.

I was told a light wash after a few weeks. My car went through 2 months of consistent snow this winter and the paint looks fine. About time for that wax, though.

wait a few months before waxing but you can go ahead and wash it and use polish but not wax for awhile...
Reference: I am experienced in the autobody technology. So Dont be scared to just wash the car. Usually cars are delivered cut/buffed and polished and washed the day after it has been painted.

OT- but how much did you pay for the paint job? I just dropped mine off today. It's going to cost me $2000 for a complete repaint including removal of some body damage and all of the dings. They are painting the door handles for me and wetsanding and buffing the whole car.
