Default civic running rich

Okay so I have a mini me in my 95 cx hatch. I just recently wired vtec to the ecu. So I start the car up and now its running super rich. So i drove it for a little and turned it off. Then it wouldn't start again. So I let it sit for a day and I just started it a little bit ago. I have yet to wire the 4 wire o2 sensor, could this be the reason why my car is running rich?

Wire it up and see...although I'm not sure if there some sort of feedback signal from a non-wired O2 sensor to the ECU that would cause your car to run rich. If it still runs rich after you've wired the O2 sensor, see how much fuel pressure you are getting, see what the factory PSI is for that motor. I had the same issue with a B18c5 I put in my Ek, everything was hooked up properly. I added a fuel pressure regulator and gauge and just adjusted the pressure back down 2 psi (factory set up was 40, I was at 42 and the CEL came on) and was golden for 3 years after that, no problem. Although I'm pretty sure something else was causing my richness that I neglected to full diagnose.

thats what i was thinking. To just get a adjustable fuel pressure regulator and it would solve my problem.

yes a bad o2 sensor is one of the first things you check when your running rich. No o2 wired is just as bad. I believe fuel pressure should be right around 34 idling and no higher than 40 at wot. BTW harbor freight has a good working fuel pressure gaugeo for like ten bucks that comes with the correct fitting to go on your filter.

well wired the o2 sensor and nothing it still runs the same. So I don't know where to go from here. The weird thing is that when my o2 sensor wasn't wired there was no CEL at all and there is still no CEL. Should I just get a fuel pressure gauge and see how much fuel I'm getting.

Oh and some specs on the motor. I'm running a b8 block with a z6 head and a p32 intake mani. I just looked and saw that I have a pm3b cam gear. Is this why I'm running rich? Because i wired vtec and my o2 sensor and i though i messed up the wiring.
