D-Series valve adjustment
I need to perform a valve adjustment on my D16y8. I have never been under the valve cover on a D16, do I need the special valve adjustment tool to perform this task? I remember on my B16 I needed it but im unsure on the D16. Also where did everyone order their feeler gauges from, anyone recommend a certain brand or style? Thanks for the help in advance.
I called a few local shops and they wanted 165 to perform this adjustment. For this amount of money I will brave the cold and do the work myself.

Re: D-Series valve adjustment
any old feeler guage works. but i prefer to use the ones with a bend in them for ease of access in b heads..
as for a valve adjustment tool.. don't really need one for the sohc vtec. the adjusters sit up outside the head.
and for what it's worth.. i used a socket beat into the end of a combination wrench and then slide a screw driver through it for b-series heads rather than buying the specialty tool. works great for when i need it, which isn't very often. and it adds character to a tool box.
