Default HELP! Faulty lights {Low beam mode > High beam interferes}

Since I apparently replaced I disconnected and reconnected the battery to replace the fuel filter. The headlights will not work as usual, every other light does but instead of low beam light being on, the high beam takes charge.. I have checked the fuses, I switched them to check, nothing.... I bought new headlights, still the same issue... I cleaned the accu with a steel brush for a good connection.. Only thing that comes to mind is that I MAY have put the accu connectors on backwards on the terminal thus screwing things up?

Interior and exterior fuses... nada

Thanks in advance!

Btw, it is a 2000 EK model

Where do I find the lowbeam relay? Im a noob when it comes to fuses and relays, is it the plug that connects to the headlight itself? And hard to word things right being foreign and unfamiliar with the terms

I'm not sure if you are saying it is always on high, or pulling the dimmer goes between dark and high instead of low and high.

If its the second case, always check the bulbs first. It is possible for both to burn out at nearly the same time.

As far as the circuit, models with DRL have additional complications. Would need to pull a schematic there. The USA model without DRL returns the ground side of the bulbs through the dimmer switch to turn on one filament or the other. The common lead of the bulbs is energized to 12 volts through a relay and two fuses, one for each side.

Pulling the steering column lever for lights toggles between running lights & low beam lights, but when I put them on low beam, the high beam suckers will come on :/ Meh...

I did already replace the bulbs too, but still to no avail

I cannot seem to find this headlight relay unless it is the one with 40amp in the picture. But isnt that a fuse?

I just cleaned the light switch on the steering column, took out the whole piece, got rid of all the dirty stuff on the copper pieces.. Re-greased with grease from within the light switch. Reading about it, thinking it may be the solution but No Sir! It still has the same problem

It wasnt like I put the Battery connectors on backwards on the terminals, I connected the negative cable first which I think should've been last. That seems to be the only relevance to this problem

¤Tested/checked with no success¤
-Checked with new headlight bulbs
-Interior fuses switched out with other 10amp
-Exterior headlight fuse {Relay?] switched out with another 40amp
-Cleaned battery terminals with steel brush
-Cleaned the contact patch within the light switch module on the steering column

Bump!!

Problem solved ya'll... Both headlight harnesses apparently went bad and things work fine now!
