HELP!!! car won't start.
Alright i have a 94 eg sedan with a D15b. Pretty much like the title says, it won't start. i turn the key in the ignition and nothing. All the lights turn on and all the electronics work fine, but no noise or anything. It wont turn over or act like the battery is dead. I can pop the clutch however and it will start, but once i turn it off it won't turn back on. I thought it might be the starter so i took it off and brought it to advance auto to get them to test and the starter worked fine. the battery isn't old and i keep the car pretty well maintained. What would anyone think this might be? Possibly a clutch pedal switch? Thanks for reading.

Re: HELP!!! car won't start.
I've seen this diagram before, should i be focused on the rubber stopper pointed out by the red arrow? How do i know if one of the switches is bad?

alright so i checked it out, i think the rubber ring is gone. i took pictures to show you, i'm pretty sure it isn't there though. can i get a new from any auto parts store?

Lol! Hokey, cheap/free fixes FTW! My whole car is a damn junk yard cobble swap, and a lot of it is home-built, or fabed....lol
Now if I could just get this annoying *** O2 sensor issue figured out.............. :*(

Re: HELP!!! car won't start.
un plug the switch and put a peice of wire from one side of the plug to the other to short it out. if it starts its the switch just make sure ur car is out of gear lol

I'm pretty sure I jumped that plug with a paper clip, and I ended up with 3 fingers and a thumb burned like a **** lol!

OH! and I don't think you need to get the clutch pedal off to get to that little hole. just look at the point on the clutch pedal, and see where it goes. do the penny trick right @ the hole the little probe pokes into....(heh)
Or you could even duct tape the probe down, so that you don't need to engage the clutch to start your car. Its better off in case your clutch takes a **** or something you can move your car with the starter, though its not really reccomended....lmfao!
One time my clutch slave cylinder had a small leak, and it dripped dry, making my clutch almost useless....I used the starter to get it rolling, shut it off quickly and slapped it into 2nd gear and drove fifteen blocks to the parts store in 2nd gear.....rofl! Mine is also bypassed completely I'm pretty sure...

Crappy volkswagens generally don't come with them....LOL!
Apparently The japanese are more concerned about safety than the Germans...
The penny trick works wonders actually....I've done it on many a honda 92-00
(as RonJ@HT states: the 92-95 civics are extremely similiar in a lot of ways.....)

Re: HELP!!! car won't start.
so i fixed it with a penny haha, thanks everyone for all your help and input. i'm going to the honda dealership today to get the rubber piece that actually goes there, and hopefully they'll have the bolts with the gromets for my D15b's valve cover.
