Help! Car won't rev past 3500
So I was backing out letting the clutch slip, when all of the sudden it just seemed to grab for no apparent reason, and the check engine light came on. Then I found out that the car began to idle like ****, like 500 rpm and below **** fluctuations and all. Then when it was time to drive it on the road, it felt like it had no power, it definitely sounded louder for no reason, and when it got up to 3500 it felt like the rev limiter kicked in. Pulled over to have a look inside the bay and nothing seemed to pop out other than it ran like ****...I've never had this problem before, and I'm planning on checking that check engine light to see if it'll give me a fault code in a few minutes. Even tried turning the car off then back on again, no difference. Please help if you've come across this problem before or have and idea what the hell is going on!

The cars been sitting for a little bit and I just tried checking for a fault code...nothing...actually the car revved past 3500 as easy as it did before once i tried starting it again.
Your say distributor? Have you experienced the problem before? Because I don't wanna keep having it randomly running like ****. Wanna get it fixed

Nope, nice and dry. Even just took it for a short test drive, everything feels back to normal. But if it has happened once, kinda worries me that it'll happen again. Might try taking apart the distributor tonight and checking the connections to to make sure those check out

Yeah I'm gonna be sure to check everything out with the distributor tomorrow, connections and what not. Hopefully it is just that simple. From what I'm hearing it sounds like it

No it wouldn't let me go past 3500 period.
After it sat for a bit though everything seemed to be back to normal
