Grinding/Noisy Brakes

Grinding/Noisy Brakes
For the past week or so, the disc brakes have been making a very odd noise noise when I come to a stop at low speeds. It sounds like some sort of grinding noise, and when I accelerate at low speeds I can still hear the noise, as if the pads (or something) are still in contact with the rotor. Also, whenever I make turns, the grinding noise seems to reappear. My brake light also lights up on occasion, even though it is not engaged. I have a '99 Civic EX coupe. Does anyone know how I might be able to fix this problem? Thanks for your time.

Take the wheels off and check out the damage. If it is grinding then you will probably need pads and rotors...at work about 1 out of 3 cars that let their brakes get to a point of grinding will need calipers also. The brake light is on because it is trying to tell you "HEY, SOMETHING IS WRONG, CHECK IT OUT INSTEAD OF DRIVING AROUND WITH THIS PROBLEM!!!" Typically in this situation the reason the brake light is on is because the fluid is low, the reason the fluid is low is because it is all in the calipers, the reason it is all in the calipers is because there is NO pad left to take up the space.
