Icon2 94 civic heat gauge problem

I just bought a 94 Civic with a b16 swap and the car heats up and you have heat in the car but the temp gauge doesn't move. Unless you drive for about 30 minutes straight. Then when the temp gauge says its warmed up I turn the car off for a few minutes it shows the motor has no heat in it. Does anyone have a clue what's going on?

Check BOTH the radiator and reservoir for a low coolant level and also bleed the cooling system.
