Exhaust choices need help!
Alright well to start off I'm looking for a new exhaust mine has fallen apart due to age want something quiet for daily driving and highway trips. I have a 92 civic hatch si with a usdm type-r swap has fully built head 5 angle valve job port n polish cams crowed valve train ect has stock header and catalytic converter (b18c) and a old greedy exhaust. Well not looking to boost or anything crazy just want a fun street/ strip car but don't want to hear that loud highway drone on my way to work or road trip. Been looking at the ws2 exhaust ppl tend to like a lot or the yonaka haven't heard much about it but have the same design if you have any suggestions lmk thanks. Forgot to mention im looking to spend no more then 600$ on exhaust

I recommend the biggest Thrush Turbo muffler you can find a Advance Auto. Sounded like stock at idle, deep tone when you mashed it, and none of the bwwaaaahhhhhhh/drone on the highway

If you want to avoid drone, either go a real WS. Or smaller diameter pipe no larger than 2.25 you need a resonator, keep the cat, and the muffler, maybe magnaflow, but I have one and it is louder than I thought it would be.
Don't go Thrush, I think he is kidding.

I'm not, had it on my Del sol and sounded stock. Very satisfied for the money I paid

This. Definitely this. The Thrush Turbo muffler is seriously a great, stock sounding muffler, even on 3" pipes with no cat. I've had one on my turbo EJ for a while now, absolutely love it, and the cops don't pull me over for my exhaust anymore.

For some reason I was thinking of the oval glass pack ones you see on muscle cars.

Re: Exhaust choices need help!
ws2 will be quieter.
but the rsr will perform better.
if this is just for a DD car get the WS2. if you want power RSR.
youre still spending more then making it yourself. why people don't understand this is beyond me. it doesn't take a big name to make a nice sound.

I put a cheap 2.5-inch "Turbo" muffler on my 2.4L Toyota 4Runner and it's horrible - super loud and resonates going down the freeway.
Maybe I'm just getting old. I have a stock stainless steel muffler from a V8 Tundra I plan to put on the old Runner one of these days, should sound great. (Meaning hopefully it won't make any noise at all.)
