EJ1 ABS Brake Trouble...complicated...
I have a EJ1 with ABS and 4-wheel disks. I've had the ABS light on for a couple of years and never had a problem until I replaced my master cylinder and brake booster because it was leaking and causing my brake pedal to fall to the floor. After unsuccessfully bleeding the system (fluid doesn't come out as expected using conventional or vacuum bleeding), the car brakes almost perfectly. After a few minutes of driving, I can feel the brakes drag and then become worse (stopping the car). The only way to 'reset' the problem is to turn off the car for a while. All procedures were done by the book when possible. I can't read the ABS trouble code. The ABS light just stays on. The car was made in Canada and I'm not the first owner. The ABS computer is located in the trunk. It's equipped with a B18. I hope this is enough information for anyone to point me in the right direction. I'm low on funds and I don't want to replace the ABS system just yet. Disabling the ABS is an option, but didn't help either.
