Re: Ebay aluminum radiator
no leaks or anything? did you see any temp drops with using one? im sure there has to be some temp drop since it'll dissipate heat better than stock.

Re: Ebay aluminum radiator
i have a csracing one off of ebay, shipped from cali...it looks good, nothing wrong with it, and works the same i guess. don't notice anything different, except that it is bigger in size. i'm using the stock fan atm, until i can come up with a lil more money for a slim 12" fan for cooling. why you asking anyways? going to purchase one?
it really isn't ebay's items. it is just being sold on the site.

Re: Ebay aluminum radiator
i got a mishimoto rad over a year ago with no problems! got the silicone hoses with it, using stock fan for now. i noticed that the engine would take just a little longer to reach normal operating temp but that was it really, temp needle goes to the same place it went with stock rad, but it looks good and gives you peace of mind knowing the rad is a lot stronger than stock.

Re: Ebay aluminum radiator
One thing to keep in mind is that the Mishimoto, Fluidyne, Koyo, and others are not specific to the D-series motors. I ran into this problem while replacing the radiator on my D16Z6 Del Sol Si.
I bought a Mishimoto which said it was a direct replacement fit for my D16Z6. However, when I went to install it the hoses were 32mm in diameter on the radiator while the hoses on the motor were 28mm. Seems like a small difference but you cannot buy a hose with different diameter ends. So, ultimately the radiator doesn't work.
Make certain when you buy your radiator that you know what size the radiator hoses are on the motor side and radiator side otherwise your nice new radiator WILL NOT WORK>
Also, I did investigate all other radiator manufacturers and found that CXRacing makes a D-series radiator that IS a direct fit with the CORRECT size 28mm hose adapters. So, if you want a good cheap radiator that will work with a D then buy the CXRacing or stick with stock.
As for Ebay radiators I have heard good and bad. Most of them are copies of the Mishimoto or Koyo. So, the design is descent. However, you have to make sure the hoses are going to fit. That is the bottom line.

Re: Ebay aluminum radiator
You realize you can just use the larger hose and clamp it down tighter on the engine side, right?
(in case you plan to say that doesn't work...I have been running my setup that way for years with zero issues or leaks)

shailoche; you know 99.9999% of atermarket parts, even though they say direct fit, require some sort of modification right?
Instead of returning your mishimoto why didn't you invest in some 99 cent hose clamps like alacard said? you really have those wheels in motion there.

Re: Ebay aluminum radiator
I've had to solve countless cooling system problems that my customers have "fixed" by using the wrong thermostats in their Honda cars. You should never ever screw with the thermostat other than to replace it as a maintenance item, and even then you should only buy a Honda OEM (Nippon Thermostat or Fuji Thompson brand) two-stage thermostat. Aftermarket thermostats cause nothing but problems.
Also, you don't want the engine to run "cooler than stock." It's not efficient. There's a reason that the cooling system was designed as it was - the engine must run within its optimum water temperature range.
So wrong.
Not all aftermarket parts are created equal.
I sell and install both OEM and aftermarket Honda parts all day long for a living. I have never ever had a fitment or quality control problem with a Denso or a Koyo radiator. Can't say the same for others (Visteon, CSF, et cetera).
It is unacceptable to sell a radiator described as "direct fit" but requiring new hoses and additional hoses to be purchased to make up for the half-assed fit, especially when other companies are getting it right.

Re: Ebay aluminum radiator
most aftermarket parts don't fit exactly like honda original parts
even bumpers, headlights, and fenders made aftermarket will not fit exact as a honda counterpart would

Yeah, but that doesn't make it right.
I just installed an aftermarket fan motor on a friend's Chevy and the motor was a bit thicker than the original motor so we had to file the motor holder slightly.

Although many enthusiasts would say that is an acceptable solution I didn't want to risk my engine on the "getter a bigger hammer" concept. So, I bought a solution which was designed for my car.
I simply wanted the OP to be aware of the possible issues which can arise. That is all.
