creaking noise from brakes when slowing down
Hi, I let Pep Boys replce my front rotors and pads-then the front end shook while braking so Pep Boys replaced the left front wheel bearing-then the front end shook more under braking and Pep Boys said the bearing was done wrong and they replaced it. Then weeks later theis groaning noise started from left front when slowing-PepBoys then put some goop on the calipers and the noise went away. Now the noise is back and PepBoys sez the caliper bracket is worn and I need new calipers. It's a '97 Cx with 130k. Any thoughts? The groaning noise is annoying! Thanks in advance. Re: creaking noise from brakes when slowing down (bhed-w)
Hmm.. They must've had some kind of brake special for people to fall for **** like that. Even if you don't know a damn thing about cars, any idiot knows that the best parts for your vehicle are the ones that were designed by the original manufacturer.. I don't know how many times I have had customers come in complaining about their brakes and how goodyear, discount tire, tires plus, and such just did a brake job and now I have some kind of noise.. Biggest problem is that those shitty aftermarket brake pads are too hard for the oem rotors and causes them glaze and make noises. Then there's the usual, my car shakes while braking. That's because they didn't resurface the rotors on the car and instead did a shitty off the car resurface..
When in doubt, take it to the pros, not the joe's.. The dealership may cost more, but we sure don't make up bullshit about wheel bearings and seized calipers. So in other words, you get what you paid for.
