Common drop height for Ek's?
I was searching the net for a while, trying to see whats the most common drop for the ek's, and really didnt come across anything. My car is lowered a bit right now, the previous owner knew nothing at all about the car. He didnt even know it had eibach springs on it. So I have absolutly no idea how low it is. The ride is pretty harsh on bumpy roads, but handles decent on the turns. I would like to get a bit of a better ride, but be a little lower. Its not near as dropped as I would like it though. It has a gay Xenon front bumper that lowers the front bumper to about 2-3 off the ground, and i scrape that everywhere, but the *** and middle are so high. After my 99-00 front end i would like to drop it a little, but have no idea how far i should go?
The roads here are pretty shitty, but right now my front bumper is 3 3/4in from the lowest part to the road, and the rear is a wopping 10'' even with a rear lip on the oem bumper. But again this bumper is like 2-3in lower than stock.
I have some 16'' rota grids (volk copies) that im going to be using, and would like the wheels to tuck a bit.
What a good drop reccomendation? I wouldnt mind the front bumper being about 3'' off the ground. Thats probably as low as i want to safely drop the front with the 99-00 front end and a si lip.
EDIT sorry, just saw its in the wrong forum...i have no idea how to delete it or move it. Sorry.

or civic is pretty nice, i cant really see a front shot, about how far would you say your front bumper is off the ground? The roads here suck so i kinda need a little clearance...like 3'' or so.

3 inches is low as ****, not sure if you wanna go that far. It depends on what you wanna do/ how much you will drive the car/ where you will drive it. I live in a bumpy area and 2 inches is giving me hell right now. Id just say, keep in mine the fact that it WILL need to be aligned (shops will have problems with getting that bitch on the rack).
You also need to consider camber kits as well depending on the springs/shocks/coilovers/blahblahblah you buy.
One other thing, what size rims you feelin? That can change how much you should lower it.

I had mine dropped 3" too, but turned out way too low for Chicago streets.
Previous setup:
-Adjustable coilovers
-Stock struts
-APC front upper tie bar
It looked nice and handled well, but ride quality sucked. Not something you'd want to drive your girl in.
I now have it lowered 1.5" and couldn't be happier.
This is my current setup:
-Tokico Struts
-Tokico 1.5" lowering springs
-O.E.M. Si front upper strut bar
-Rear upper strut bar
-Rear lower tie bar
-Megan Racing rear LCA's
-O.E.M. LX front LCA's
-O.E.M. LX front sway bar
-O.E.M. Si rear sway bar
-Energy Suspension polyurethane bushings

Re: Common drop height for Ek's? (elitesi8)
what type eibachs are those? i think i want to get those for my ek. i had sportlines way back about ten years ago when i had an accord. 1.9" drop in boston **** roads, but they rode awsome. i had gc coilovers on my eclipse when the coilover craze first hit and they rode like **** and debris made the adjuster pretty worthless. coilovers can't touch well engineered springs like eibach as far as ride. i was going to go full omni coilover, but now that i think of it, screw that ****, i'm going back to the eibachs. civics look nice with a moderate drop anyways. too low looks ricey.
it's almost like *****. at first, bush was the norm, now shaved is so popular. for some reason, i'm feeling some bush lately. ]

im running tein s-tech's which are about a 2 inch drop, on tokico blues. even though i drive an eg, it doesnt matter tokico blues will give such a smooth ride. Ive owned illuminas as well, they werent even as nice a ride as my blues.

My car is close to 3.5" I'd imagine. I have an EG. I've always been a fan of slammed cars. I'm using SPW coil overs with Tokico Illumina shocks. I love my setup.

Tien S-tech springs over KYB AGX's set all the way to stiff. Its about a 2 inch drop, which i am happy with b/ jersey roads su ck. It also isnt a harsh ride, doesnt bounce, and does handle well
EDIT: BTW this set up is on sale at pro street online for like $500 thats where i got mine from

Re: Common drop height for Ek's? (DaKINE-Ek)
My 99 hatch is lowered on Eibach Sportlines. They say about a 1.8" drop I think all around, but I think it's settled a little past 2". Looks good, rides good, couldn't be happier.
I was dropped about 3 inches on coilovers, ride was a very bumpy but they weren't really expensive coilovers either. But I have ridden in a good friends with the full coilover Tein system and his was still fairly bouncy.

Im in love with that car
Thats one very very nice hatch.
Im thinking either Koni Yellow's or KYB AGX's with tein or eibach springs...sound like a decent setup?
