Civic Transmission Service?
I have a 95 auto Civic DX that just hit 50k. My tranny has been shifting hard for a couple months now. I don't know if the ATF has ever been changed, i looked through the records but i can't understand the mechanic's handwriting. the fluid looks dark to me.
anyway, I took it to a "tayer" here in miami and the guy told me it needs to be flushed. my question is.... i've been reading about flushing and that it actually pushes all the metal particles and such from the tranny back in b/c it pushes backwards on the filter. but i can't find any information stating that the D-series trannies have filters. should i just get it flushed or should i go to a better shop and have them change the "filter" and do proper "service".
btw, the "tayer" would charge me $45 to do the flush with honda ATF.
