Re: Chassis Code Cheat Sheet (Other Specs too!)
well I am pretty sure I have one. Just didnt see it in the chassis code list. I need a headliner. Bad!! no one sells them or even heard of a full power and sunroof hatchback for an ek is all. Any help is good help. Now I am doing a H swap in the beast.

Oddly enough, Wikipedia currently says it's a 2000 only trim, and web searches show only 2000s for sale or otherwise mentioned. But, all that taken into consideration, 94EG8 has a 1996 Honda Civic manual from Canada that mentions the DX Special trim level. So I'd say with that dealer/maker literature there is a very good chance that the DX Special Edition was available for 1996-2000.
For those reading this post who are not sure about that specific trim level, the Civic DX Special was a DX (EJ6/D16Y7 1.6L non-VTEC I4) hatch available in Canada only which had several special options not otherwise available standard (or possibly optional) on the other Canadian or US '96-'00 hatchbacks: midwing (optional on any 6G hatch, though rarely seen until recent years when people began adding them), 14" mesh wheels (similar to the Integra LS meshies), color-matched side-view mirrors, color-matched side molding, color-matched door handles, color-matched license plate garnish, and the "Special" badge, ("Edition" is not on the badge) which mounts under the Civic badge on the hatch.
The thing is, I don't see any DX Specials with factory moonroofs. Perhaps you could LINK to a photo of your moonroof?

FYI: The DX Special hatch was only offered in the 2000 model year. In 96 & 97, there wasn't even a CDM DX-trim hatch offered. There was an option package called the CX-G which was effectively the same as a DX (rear wiper, tach, etc). Check it out here: www.torontohondaparts.com. None of these had a factory moonroof.
