Check the fuse for the cooling fan, then jumping the plug with the paperclip should work.

hi, yes cooling fan fuse good fan relay is good, and the fuse under the dash, and under the hood are good, and if i jump the wires to the switch with a paper clip, the fan will come on. i just want it to turn on the way it is suppose to, like factory. thanks arthur

^Have you replaced the relay yet?

Glad to hear your coolant is finally running like it should. It sounds like your pump was just bad. If it sits around half on the temp. gauge while you move without a fan, it should be fine now, the air through the gauge takes up the work of the fan but obviously won't when the cars at a stand still. D series parts don't usually go over to B's no problem. A new tps will probably solve your problem but you should wait for a second opinion on here, I'm not a B series guru.

At least the car is drivable now. These other problems are minor but annoying.

***If your talking about the TPS sensor yes they do swap over just fine. You just swap the whole throttle body or, if you have the know how, you can successfully swap the TPS. The Y7 motor is an exception cause the throttle body faces up but again the sensor itself will work. Most sensors are interchangable exept for the IACV on some models the IATS but can be plugged in into another location. As far as everything else, hardparts, intake, exhaust, motor internals, no. ***

If your still having problems I think theres still a lingering airpocket issue.

so everything is more or less normal now? my b16 swapped coupe sits about 1/3 of the way up on the temp gauge and was the same with the d15. sitting right at half isnt bad, but if you can throw a lower temp thermostat in there i would, just for piece of mind.

Yes. You need to do a quick mod though.

Keep the B series mounting bracket on the engine, then mount the D series alternator bracket to that mount and it lines right up to the belt drive.

EDIT: You need to use a fairly long 14 mm bolt and nut to push the alternator out to line it up. Should've said that in the first place. Here's a link for you.

So you figure out what the problem was with your cooling/thermostat situation? Is your temp. gauge to normal(1/3-half down)?

im not sure how i fixed the problem but the guage is around half, but the fan still will not kick on. i replaced the temp switch, and the switch under the distributor, and still no fan. but it will turn on when i jump the plug with a paper clip. i have it hooked up to a toggle switch for now. i took the car off the road for the winter.i also noticed i have a little oil under the distributor it sits on where the block and head attach. like under the distributor, the top part of the block, and bottom of the head, i cant figure where its coming from, and why. i clean it, take the car for a ride, and come back and check, and there is some oil there again.
