Bosch Platinum +4 spark plugs
Which spark plugs do you recommend coz i'm replacing the old spark plugs on my car. Its a 2000 civic EX. I can replace them with Bosch Platinum +4. Thanks

NGK ZFR-5F11 stock plugs do just fine. They also have the Honda part number, 98079-5615G.
Bosch plugs lick donkey nuts for Honda engines.
That Platinum +4 **** is nothing but hype - don't buy into it.

Ive used every different kind and the +4's rock. but a stock plug on a stock motor most of the time always works best.

from what I have noticed is that platinum and iridum plugs run like crap regardless of the make. (NGK/Denso/Bosch) i have best expirences with standard copper plugs such as NGK/AC-Delco/Champion

It is well known that steel tipped plugs produce the most intense spark. Think of it as conductivity. The lower the conductivity, the lower the spark voltage for a given gap. How conductive is steel vs. Platinum? Before Platinum, I recall ads in Popular Mechanics about new and innovative copper core spark plugs. These worked well for a short time but unfortunately the copper couldn't withstand the spark and burned up fairly quickly. Coating steel with platinum counters this effect. Ideally, you want a spark plug with low conductivity combined with a coil large enough to fire it over a relatively wide gap. This brings us to the "super coils".

I mean really I don't see how anyone can honestly say that their car felt stronger after swapping to "special" plugs over functional stock-type plugs.
Unless the old plugs were fouled out or just worn as **** I cannot see any reason for "special" plugs to make a car run any better.
We have seen some cars running like poop with fresh Bosch plugs. Swapped in stock NGK plugs and fixed the problem.

I was going to put NGKs in mine but the parts store didn't have any...so in went Bosch plats (the normal ones, not the +4s)...they work fine.

doesn't the higher the number, the hotter? how would this affect the motor's performance? lets say i'm running ur motor and i upgraded to 7's. i think 6's are oem itr? i can't remember.

i used to work for autozone and they always made us try to sell those platinum +4 things.

go into autozone and ask about them thats what they'll tell you. then the people ask me what i had in my car and i was uh.. $2 ngk plugs compared to the $6 bosch bull sh$t.

kinda off topic but what is the correct gap for the ngk's on a usdm b16? or do these plugs come with a satisfactory gap right out of the box?
