Default 97 Civic EX Help

My sister just bought a 97 civic ex from a dealer today!

When she came home with the car, damn i noticed it was freaky loud!

So I inspected the car a little, so I grabbed my flashlight to go look at the muffler, but it turns out like it the tail pipe was sawwed off! Like the opening of the tube was short! It never reached to the bumber of the car!

Then when i test drived it there was a check engine light on! So I asked my sis what is this! She said the deealer said "oh thats how it is because of the intake and exaust"

Please can someone help me out, I want to buy my sis a softer exaust, Anyone reccomend?

Do you want something that will perform, or stock???
I say a type-r exhaust would be nice.

Why not that Greddy that JDMallTHEway has. Whenever he gets back online if he wants to let us know how that one is. They seem like good exhausts, but I want to hear from someone who has a similar setup. Oh, and btw, which high-flow cat do you have JDM. I want to replace that and my exhaust and want to know how yours is.

And to SpoonIntegra808, good luck with the car, you shoulda gone with her to the dealer. You know how girls are with cars jk.

The Greddy is an excellent exhaust. it has a large muffler, that hides nicely, giving it a nice deep tone (not ricey sounding like some) and looks good too. YOu can definately feel the performance differences too, it's well worth the money. The high flow cat is ncie, I got it on ebay for pretty cheap, I think it's OBX, but I checked them out, and their all almost the same, so spend as little money as possible.

I say take it back to the dealership and tell them to put a COMPLETE exhaust on the car. And find out/fix whatever is causing that check engine light to come on. They definetly should not have sold her a car that is in that condition. I take it this wasn't an actual car dealer like a Honda or Acura dealer right? I got shafted by a little used car dealer as well. I spent almost $1,000 bring the car back to stock and STILL havn't fixed everything.
