93 Si - Low/lumpy idle after semi wire tuck (solved)
93 Si w/ d16z6. Damn near all stock.
Just got everything hooked up and the car started right up. Did the a normal cold start cycle, starting at high idle then gently coming down to normal. After some time, when the engine starts getting to the idle RPM, it gets so low the idle starts to become lumpy, if you will. The engine then kicks back up a few hundred RPM to save itself from dying. I tucked the passenger side headlight harness, and the 3 big plugs on the shock tower inside my cabin. I did my best to shield the wires to the distributor (I think those were the shielded ones?). Any ideas guys? How can I smooth my idle? Or, is there anything I should at least check out a little closer?

CEL, yes. Had no time to clean IACV. Will be cleaning the IACV tomorrow, and getting a diagnostics tool hooked to it to read the CEL code. My test drive (after working on it all weekend) just cost me $898. The boys caught me ridin' dirty at the worst possible time. Expired tags (already went to DMV, was told I was due for emissions, went to emissions, failed), No insurance (I've been guilty of driving around with no current card even though I have insurance) and well, speeding. No excuse for that one lol.
Ouch.

Click the CEL Codes link in RonJ's signature under Technical Links. It will guide you through the code pulling process. You just need a paperclip.
On a side note, sometimes it's just best not to share your personal life troubles as it tends to dissuade people from wanting to help, people have a tendency to instajudge and not in a good way. Just better to keep that man purse all closed up and stashed out of sight.

RonJ's information was incredibly helpful. I'm throwing code 9 and code 43. However, when I reset my ECU, and these codes don't come up again, water under the bridge right? Still have yet to clean the IACV. Was waiting to get a new gasket in before I took it off.

I hate to ask you to hold my hand through this, but obviously I'm still learning. I have a multimeter, never used it. How do I ohm test those two wires? Appears to be pins b11 and b12 on my ecu from what I've gathered.

Turn key OFF. Unplug ECU connector B. Identify pins B11 and B12 by their location and the corresponding Orn and Wht wires.

With meter set to read resistance/Ohms, touch one probe to pin B11 and other to pin B12. What is the Ohm reading?

Post pictures of what you are touching with the meter probes.
What reading to you get when you touch the meter probes together.

Pics show multimeter reading with prongs touching at 2000 ohm scale. Trying to pull reading from b bank connector on b11 and b12.

It also might be worthy of note to anyone else reading, code43 came back. My car starts, runs, and drives normally. Idle has since smoothed out, although a little rough still On the idle. Have reset ecu twice.
At this point, it's one thing at a time so I'm focusing on code 9 For now.

Flip the meter to 200 Ohm scale and touch probes. What's the reading?

Car still shows code 9. Got to call it a day right now. Will be back for more tomorrow. It's gonna be REAL hard for me to snap a pic of where the prongs are touching the connector. I'll do my best.
