93 eg hatch - Fuel Pump won't prime
Need some help here guys.
So I just recently got a 93 eg hatch.
I'm having issues getting the fuel pump to prime in the start position. After tons of research and trial and error I was able to get it to prime with a jumper wire on the correct wires where the main relay is.
I figured it must be the main relay, unfortunately a brand new main relay later it still won't prime the fuel pump. I've tried a working ECU, checked all the fuses and nothing.
It still primes if I use a jumper wire, but as soon as I plug in a main relay nothing. Its also worth noting that I did try another main relay out of my buddy's car and it still didn't work.
Any advice out there?

Re: Fuel Pump issues
Working on the car with this guy....
It's worth noting; the main power wire to the pump was cut/ripped. We thought for sure that was going to be the issue. Unfortunately, after hooking that back up, it made not much of a difference, aside from the pump actually turning on when jumping the relay plug, whereas before it wasn't turning on at all.

Re: Fuel Pump issues
Also, when jumping the plug to pull check engine codes, the CEL doesn't blink or do anything. Just stays on.
The car was originally an auto and was converted to manual, if that helps.
Not sure how proper it was done. The original ignition is not even in there, and some autozone POS is.

Re: Fuel Pump issues
Does jumping either terminal 1 or 5 to terminal 7 in the main relay plug make the fuel pump run?
Is the G101 ground on the thermostat housing disconnected, loose, or corroded?

Re: 93 eg hatch - Fuel Pump won't prime
Checked the grounds, they look fine.
The fuel pump primes when jumping the main relay. He had some melted wires in the under-dash harness. Replaced that whole harness, along with the dash. It also has a brand new ignition on it now, still doesn't prime.
This thing is a real pain in the ***.

Re: 93 eg hatch - Fuel Pump won't prime
So I finally got the car running last night.
Turns out it was the ground to the t-stat. The ground looked fine, I sprayed it with cleaner and scrubbed the connections just to be sure. After that the pump primed and the car started .
Thanks everyone for the help!
