Default Diagnosing short

Sub fan fuse keeps blowing. Both fans spin freely by hand. Both have same resistance when hand spun also. Directly connected the fan to the battery with no issues.

The subfan is the passenger side one?(one that doesn't turn on)
The condensor fan is driver side one?(always on during ac operation)

I've seen before a faq diy Diagnosing step by step guide. For example. If this is fine do this...or if it's not do this. I think I've seen something like it that had to do with an integra though.

Disconnect the fan and see if the fuse blows.

ok so it didnt blow with fan unlugged. so is it a bad fan even though it runs fine directly connected to battery?

If it's over amping it will run hot, so don't just jump the fuse, replace the fan. Under dash fires are never fun.

Do you mean under hood fires are never fun? dealing with the radiator sub fan. BTW what is the purpose for it? didn't use it all summer due to short. How would I go about finding the motor only & is it possible to rebuild it with new motor? where is a good place to buy one? passenger radiator fan*

First off what is the MM&Y of the car?
"Sub fan" are you talking about the rad fan, never heard of a "sub fan"?
When does fuse blow, as soon as it is plugged in, when engine temp. is supposed to turn on the fan, when you turn on the ign., you are not clear about that?
Assuming it is when engine temp. is supposed to turn it on then I agree it is an internal short in the fan, ["over amping", never heard that term before].
The only way to confirm is to do a load test, or run the fan directly off the batt. but through a fuse of the same size, [amperage] as the stock rad fan fuse, if tht fuse blows then you do have an internal short in the motors windings , replace the fan.

Cheapest will be from a bone yard, [PicknPull] then some place like Rock Auto or Performance Rad... Performance Radiator® for OE replacements, and any auto parts store for an aftermarket one, [like a Spall]. 94
