06 EX Engine stock swap, now cranks but won't start. Help!
I'm hoping someone here can help. My '06 EX had 168K on it when it developed a bad rod knock suddenly on my way home from work one day- stalling at red lights, etc.. Rather than rebuild the stock motor, I got an '09 motor with 33K from a local yard for $800. I would have done the swap myself, but I don't have room in my garage right now, it's full of furniture. Exciting I know.
Anyway, a friend has swapped the motor out, installed a new OEM Honda clutch, pressure plate, etc. Everything appears normal, all lights light up, the engine cranks over but will not start. He says he can't hear the fuel pump priming either- obviously then it's fuel related. Is there ANYTHING that would be affecting the fuel system from this motor swap? Is there something that would keep the car from priming the pump, like an inertia switch Ford used for a while? It's highly unlikely my fuel pump crapped out too, but I suppose it's possible. Thing is he drove it into the garage. Really weird. I'm anxious to have my car back. Thoughts?

Check the ground on the engine harness if you swapped that too. My friend replaced the engine on his civic and left out the bolt that grounds all the sensors on the engine harness. The car would not start until I figured it out. The bolts looks like its just to hold the hardness in place but its actually a ground. Its on the right side by where the transmission meets the engine.

Excellent, thank you. I'll have him take a look at that tonight.
I know he started looking at the fuel pump wiring as well, on the off chance the pump is bad. He said he pulled up the back seat. there are 4 wires that go to the pump/sending unit ,
A heavier green/white stripe
A light green
An orange
A black.
He said the heavier green/white stripe has 12 volts when the key is turned to the on position but I can't find ANYTHING for a wiring diagram for this gen Civic online. I've got all the factory manuals for the older Civics but this is my newest Honda so I'm out of luck. Anyone know if that sounds right power-wise? maybe it is my fuel pump, but it seems to me that the pump should only get 12v for three seconds when the key is turned, then powered down until crank. I think I need to just buy a factory service manual for this gen. Any input guys? Thank you!

THANK YOU foumer! Turns out, after checking voltage at the FP, and then tapping on the FP with a hammer, the FP went AT THE SAME TIME AS MY MOTOR. So, new pump in place and I'm back on the road again. I'll keep those links though- that's very helpful!
