Default Transmission won't engage.

I have a 2001 honda civic 1.7 vtec with automatic transmission I just replaced the transmisson well I can drive it for a little while and it does fine but all of a sudden it just won't go it'll just rev up would low fluid make it do this or what please let me know thanks

Check the trans fluid dipstick, looking from front of engine bay (top left corner next to the right strut tower below air box/duct pipe).
Yes low/dirty Honda tranny fluid (red color oil) could be a good place to start. Must use HONDA ATF.
Was tranny new, used or rebuild?
Any oil leaks, at mainseal?
Any CEL codes?
Who was the installer, yourself or a reputable mechanic?

When next time it happens, try testing putting it in Reverse Gear, or 2nd to see if it goes...
