Default tranny dipstick causing leaks?

i have a 02 ex coupe. I noticed that theres red fluid dripping from my tranny. I cleaned it up and it stopped. After a week of driving i noticed the dripps were back. I was wondering if it could be comming from my dip stick. Its sitting on my tranny and its super loose. I just ordered a new one so hopefully it fixes the problem. I was reading about it and it said either the main seal or axle seals could be bad. Checked the axle seals and they're still good, its red transmission fluid so i dont think its the main seal. Every thing is pretty clean underneath the car except for the red drips comming from the tranny and subframe. Anyone else have any problems with a loose dipstick?

Never had that problem, but if your dipstick is just sitting loose in the transmission it's a likely culprit. It really shouldn't have any play in it, so replacing it is the right thing to do anyway. It's a hell of a lot easier to replace than the axle or main seal too.

Do you see any fluid on top of the tranny near where the dipstick goes?

96-05 auto civics are notorious for the dipstick rubber shrinking and then leaking or just falling out.

So i went under the car this weekend to check out the leak. All the axel seals are fine and the area around the dip stick is clean. The drip is comming from the torque converter cover plate. Is there a seal for the torque converer or is ther a seal around that area that can go bad?
