k24 auto swap
Hi all. I have a 2005 civic with an auto d15 non vtec. Im planning to swap a k24a2 or a3 auto in it soon since my current engine needs a rebuild. Cant go with the much desirable k20 due to price (3000-3500) and daily diving in traffic, so will stick with auto and settle with whatever gains I get out from this swap. The motor will be complete with all sensors, wiring, ECU, TCM etc. and will cost me around 1200$. Has anyone ever done the k24 auto swap here.
Since its auto to auto I wont have to do the extra stuff required for the manual conversion but what other things would require to be taken care off other than the usual mounts, fuel lines, hoses etc. Also is there an alternate to the EP3 subframe as we didn’t get them here and sourcing it would be a bit difficult.
Ive come across a lot of info for the k20 swap or k24/k20 swap but not particularly the k24 auto swap.
Thanks in advance,

Re: k24 auto swap
The reasons why automatic K-series swaps really haven't been a topic of popular discussion:
1. No one makes a swap mount for the transmission-side.
2. There is no direct aftermarket support for an ECU. Running the stock ECU is not an option, and neither is running the stock K24 auto ECU, due to a mismatch in gauging and harnesses. You would have to pioneer that end of it entirely.
3. Axles: You're going to probably need custom ones, due to the different hub styles (unless you plan on swapping over to RSX brakes/knuckles/etc).
As for the subframe; you can use a DC5 subframe.
